Technical Product Manager

Canada

Overview

Reporting to the VP of Software Engineering, the Technical Product Manager is responsible for translating customer and business needs into clear, actionable technical product requirements. This role combines external product discovery with internal technical product ownership, ensuring that customer outcomes, product strategy, architecture, technical feasibility, and delivery priorities remain aligned. The Technical Product Manager works closely with customers, engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, secure, and commercially valuable products.

Main Responsibilities

– Develop and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs, business goals, platform direction, and technical constraints

– Engage directly with customers, partners, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to understand use cases, workflows, integration needs, pain points, and expected outcomes

– Translate customer and business requirements into clear product requirements, technical specifications, integration workflows, user stories, and measurable acceptance criteria

– Act as the primary bridge between customers, business stakeholders, and engineering teams, ensuring a shared understanding of requirements, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and trade-offs

– Serve as the internal technical product owner, maintaining an end-to-end view of product behavior across device, embedded software, SDKs, APIs, cloud services, applications, and external integrations

– Own and manage the product backlog end-to-end, ensuring it is visible, transparent, technically ready, and prioritized according to customer value, business impact, technical risk, dependencies, and strategic objectives

– Ensure epics and user stories are complete, technically clear, appropriately scoped, and supported by well-defined acceptance criteria before development begins

– Work with engineering and architecture teams to evaluate feasibility, identify technical risks, clarify non-functional requirements, and make informed scope and priority trade-offs

– Drive requirement reviews and technical alignment across teams, resolving ambiguity and maintaining decisions, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the development lifecycle

– Define product success criteria and validate that delivered capabilities meet the intended customer use case and agreed technical and functional requirements

– Participate in release planning, assess product and technical readiness, coordinate cross-functional dependencies, and support customer-facing rollout activities

– Ensure internal and external product documentation is created and maintained, including feature requirements, API behavior, integration guidance, workflows, release notes, and known limitations

– Monitor customer feedback, usage patterns, market trends, competing solutions, and relevant technology developments to inform roadmap and prioritization decisions

Partner with QA, DevOps, Support, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to improve release quality, operational readiness, adoption, and customer satisfaction
