Business Development Manager (Ukraine & Europe)
Overview
Due to the accelerated growth of our Canadian company, we are seeking a driven business development specialist in Ukraine and Europe, with an extensive network of contacts, to lead this expansion.
As Business Development Manager for Ukraine and Europe, you will be the key driver of the company’s commercial growth in the region. You will create and execute new business opportunities, build long-term partnerships with drone manufacturers, system integrators and government stakeholders, and position the company as a leading partner in the embedded machine vision systems sector in the Ukrainian and European markets.
Main Responsibilities
– Identify, develop and secure commercial opportunities for embedded vision platforms (EVPaaS hardware, cloud, Edge AI) with clients in Ukraine and Eastern Europe
– Build and manage a pipeline of prospects in the UAV manufacturing, defence technology, surveillance, government and related sectors
– Cultivate and leverage existing relationships with drone manufacturers, system integrators, OEMs and public-sector procurement teams
– Serve as company`s primary point of contact for strategic accounts and partner organisations in Ukraine
– Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and government forums relevant to UAV and embedded vision technologies
– Collaborate closely with company`s engineering and product teams to translate customer requirements into actionable opportunities
– Develop territory sales plans, market analyses, and revenue forecasts for the Ukrainian and Eastern European regions
– Stay up to date with Ukrainian and EU procurement, regulatory, and funding landscapes
– Support the expansion of company`s partner ecosystem by identifying and onboarding resellers, distributors, and technology partners
Mandatory Requirements
Education & Background
– Ukrainian citizen, based in Ukraine/Europe
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field
– Fluent English
Experience
– 5+ years of B2B business development or sales experience in at least one of the following: UAV / drone industry, embedded systems or hardware, defence-tech, IoT, or vision technology
– Proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals in a technical product environment
– Demonstrated experience working with or selling to the Ukrainian government, defence agencies, or state-affiliated procurement bodies
Industry Knowledge & Network
– Deep understanding of the Ukrainian and European UAV ecosystem — including key manufacturers, integrators, end-users, and regulatory bodies
– Existing professional network within Ukrainian drone companies, defence contractors, or relevant government ministries (e.g. Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ministry of Defence, NASC)
– Awareness of current demand dynamics for UAV payloads, embedded cameras, and AI-enabled vision systems in Ukraine and NATO-aligned markets
– Familiarity with international export controls and dual-use technology regulations as they apply to vision systems and UAV components
