Senior AQA Engineer

Overview

Main Responsibilities

– Design and implement automated testing strategies for frontend (UI) and backend (API) layers
– Build and maintain test suites using modern tools (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Postman)
– Perform manual QA where automation is not practical – including exploratory testing, edge case validation, and release smoke tests
– Collaborate closely with developers and other QA engineers in a fast-moving agile team
– Integrate testing into our CI/CD workflows (Bitbucket Pipelines)
– Define quality metrics and contribute to test plans, bug triage, and QA documentation
– Provide mentorship and guidance to other QA engineers on test design, automation, and best practices

Mandatory Requirements

– 5+ years of experience in QA, with significant experience in both automated and manual testing
– Proven ability to design and maintain automated test frameworks and pipelines
– Hands-on experience testing Angular apps and Node.js APIs
– Familiarity with AWS services and serverless architecture (especially Lambda)
– Comfortable with test tooling such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Postman, etc.
– Strong manual QA skills with a keen eye for UI/UX consistency and edge-case behaviors
– Clear communicator and collaborator in a remote-first, cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience in testing SaaS applications or AI-driven software products
– Familiarity with performance testing and optimization techniques
– Background in educational technology or assessment-related software
