Our partner is a startup focused on algorithmic trading, developing innovative trading strategies grounded in real data.
We are looking to strengthen its team with a talented Mathematician. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the mathematical and statistical foundations of our models, ensuring their accuracy, reliability, and scalability. You will collaborate with analysts, developers, and the CTO to design, test, and optimize algorithms capable of detecting market inefficiencies and delivering consistent results.
Main Responsibilities
– Develop and improve mathematical models to support trading strategies
– Apply advanced statistical, probabilistic, and time-series analysis methods to financial market data
– Collaborate with the Quant Analyst to validate hypotheses and improve forecasting accuracy
– Work with developers to implement models into production-ready code
– Research and apply optimization methods (stochastic processes, linear/nonlinear optimization, Monte Carlo methods, etc.) to enhance algorithm efficiency
– Stay up-to-date with the latest research in applied mathematics
– Your mathematical models will directly power our trading strategies and real-time risk controls, influencing capital allocation and financial performance.
Mandatory Requirements
Education and Experience:
– Master’s or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, or a related field
– Prior experience with financial markets, trading systems, or algorithmic strategy research is desirable
– Experience collaborating with programmers and data scientists is a plus.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
