Our company is an independent SME with 25 years of experience, employing forty people, and generating a turnover of €14 million. We specialize in urgent transport, freight forwarding, dedicated distribution, including specialized transport of vintage and luxury cars in the East of France.
The company is established in four regions in France: the Grand Est (Phalsbourg and Mulhouse), the Paris region (Meaux), and the Southwest (Pau). Our network allows us to operate from/to major industrial and economic regions, particularly from the North of France and the Rhône-Alpes region.
Main Responsibilities
The Freight Forwarder Specialist, (FFS) is appointed to analyse, define and realize transport operations of our company in Ukraine and develop business all over the country in accordance with our strategy and our current and future customers expanding needs.
Main 3 items of responsibility are
– Give competitive rates and solutions to answer to the company’s clients requests related to road transport in Europe, directly of through sales teams, management teams of colleagues outside of Ukraine
– Once the transport is awarded, makes sure the adequate resources to carry on the transport order are in place to execute on time and with the expected quality and reliability the transport ordered, with a reasonable expected margin generated
– Once the transport is completed, gathers all needed documents and information that enables the company to invoice the customer
– The main duty is to develop in a period of time as short as possible, enough revenue and margin in the country to cover expenses related to this entity in Ukraine
– The spetialist will work out of existing contacts and opportunities and developing local business with already existing businesses in his / her network, a volume of activity in International freight forwarding activities. This could also include providing some large transport players in Ukraine (like Nova Posta) transport solutions for their international network. These services can be invoiced out of the country, should the customer request this
– The spetialist will also have the opportunity to use his / her existing contacts both with direct clients and transport companies to help generate margin and new businesses inside and outside of the borders of Ukraine
– He / she will learn and use French ERP that will be deployed in the country, enabling local team to operate and follow transport orders wherever they might be located
– Identify sufficient quality sub-contracting transport resources inside and outside of Ukraine in order to be able to give competitive price offers to a maximum of incoming requests from clients
– Find on the spot the adequate road transport provider / solution for ad hoc client requests, whatever the localisation of the flow, using own knowledge, company sub-contracting database and searching other solutions when the first 2 ways are not possible
– Assist the sales team and local management into finding other streams of business, clients and sub contactors, in order to grow local activity. This could be dedicated transport distribution services, regular shuttles, groupage and Less than Truck Load (LTL) services, Time critical Transport, …
– Assesses and helps company as well as customer into planning adequate additional services needed to operate transport : export and import customs, phytosanitary documents, dangerous goods, goods requiring temperature controlled trailers or vans, …
– Makes sure the cargos are picked up and delivered on time, that there is a continuous flow of information as far as localisation of transport unit is throughout the transport
Mandatory Requirements
Selection of hauliers
– Collecting informations about subcontractors (results, financial situation, reliability)
– Handling of the database of hauliers
– Handling of the list of hauliers who are in charge of cooperation
– Definition the status of hauliers in the database
– Selection of service providers in accordance with the needs of operational departments based on the information analysis of subcontractors
Organization and monitoring of hauliers
– Selection of hauliers complying with the highest standard of requirements (price, quality, reliability, punctuality)
– Preparation and control of rates of transport services
– Working out agreements in cooperation with the legal services (internal or external)
Cost analysis
– Calculation of rates
– Control of margin
Development of internal relationships
– Representing the company’s philosophy in the personal behavior
– Building up and maintaning business relationships
Evaluation of KPI
– Translation and comparison of KPI. Evaluation and ranking of the performance of hauliers
Analisys of the transport market
– nalisys of economical and financial situation of transport companies
– Identification of changes with effect on the transport market
– Preparation of comments to the reports in order to develop new activities
Control of duties against the subcontractors
– Control of payment
– Control of proper documentations enabling invoicing on time
Key factors for success
– Strong knowledge in operational road process

– Good field operator
– More than 2 years’ experience as a freight forwarder with strong sales orientation, you know many existing flows, who operate them and the market level of costs for sales and operation, possibly (but not a must) within an International Company
– Comprehensive working knowledge of cost structures in a business organization and appropriate cost improvement strategies
– Good in English (can be B1 low) and Ukrainian, other language, such as French would be a plus
– Motivated and bonus driven personality
